This autographed poster is one of the most prized items in my collection, signed by Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, affectionately known as “O Pantera Negra”. Considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, Eusébio was a true legend of Portuguese football and a symbol of excellence for generations of Benfica fans, including myself. The poster, signed in 2004, is a limited-edition piece numbered 334/500, making it even more special and unique.
Eusébio is immortalized for his incredible career at Benfica, where he won 11 Primeira Liga titles and helped secure the club’s second European Cup in 1962. His blistering pace, powerful shots, and natural ability in front of goal made him a global icon. The poster itself captures the spirit of his playing days, showing Eusébio in action during the European Cup Final at Wembley, where Benfica faced AC Milan. His contributions to both club and country—especially leading Portugal to a third-place finish in the 1966 World Cup as the tournament’s top scorer—are celebrated worldwide.
For me, as a lifelong Benfica fan and a proud Portuguese, this signed poster holds immense sentimental value. It’s more than just an autograph; it’s a piece of history from a player who embodied the passion, dedication, and brilliance that define the beautiful game.
